Thoughts from our Company President
A quote from an unknown author comes to mind. "If you think the cost of educating your employees is expensive, you need
to consider for a moment the cost of NOT educating your employees."
For instance, research shows that most office workers use only 20 percent of the
capabilities of their productivity software, often resorting to inefficient and
time-consuming workarounds for all but the most basic tasks. In contrast,
individuals who master essential desktop software applications can complete
tasks more efficiently, in less time, and with superior results. Software
expertise makes employees indispensable to their business or organization and
leads to improved productivity. For businesses it leads to better margins and profitability.
Until recently, software productivity training primarily relied upon
expensive, "one-shot" instructor-led training on or off site. We all know
too well the problems with this "splash in a pan" approach to training. First,
it is very expensive in terms of employee time away from work. Next, what about
the employees who couldn't attend the training? And finally, for the ones who
did, they often forget what was taught before they even return to work
because they didn't get a chance to apply the learning in a practical way.
Unfortunately, we have all been there.
A new approach to productivity training has been made possible due to
technology advances. With high-speed networks and Internet connections, it is now
possible for organizations to deliver directly to the employee's desktop,
or home computer, productivity training in a much more effective way,
at a lower cost per student and in
rich-media, engaging interactive content.
(Click
here for sample online course) Under this method, the employees
are allowed simultaneous secure access to an Enterprise Learning Library.
User access can be centrally managed making it easy to authorize the exact training
the employee needs
whenever and however they need it, at work or at home. The
training can cover materials from beginning to advanced levels and can be accessed
by detailed topic level in any course. The courseware can include pre- and
post-level assessments to measure competents, include study guides for printing,
allow for immediate applied learning and track the employee's
progress through the entire training. We are tremendously excited about the
productivity training
possibilities for enterprises and individuals. We are finding that organizations are experiencing great successes
using this new approach to productivity training. I think the best part to this
approach is the easy of implementation. You simply Plug it in - Turn it on - and
Start Learning!
The first of the year is a great
time for all of us to set a new path to improved productivity learning.
May yours be especially prosperous,
Ted
